Lucite Gallery
Set inside a Japanese-style house which was built shortly after the war, Lucite Gallery is accessible within a five-minute walk from Asakusabashi Station. The house was once home to a famous Showa era (1926-1989) singer and geisha named Ichimaru. She was the figurehead of Japanese record label Victor Entertainment, and was able to influence an entire generation.
The second floor which faces the Sumida River turns into a café during the day, offering homemade tarts and matcha, while during the evening you can enjoy typical bar food and drinks. The operating hours differ throughout the year, so please check their official website.
Encounter rare items and enjoy the views of Sumida River at this cozy space in Tokyo’s Shitamachi area.
